Edmonton, AB – Matt Jeneroux, Member of Parliament for Edmonton Riverbend, released the following update on the NEXUS program:

After delays and multiple calls to action by this government, I’m happy our concerns are finally starting to be addressed and the NEXUS program is starting to open up again.

On January 11, the CBSA made an announcement on introducing a new interview option to start clearing up the NEXUS backlog. This new process will allow air passengers to complete an application interview with a CBSA officer at offices near certain Canadian airports. The applicants would then conduct a similar interview with a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer at U.S. Customs before boarding a flight to the United States.
