Unity Is Our Strength — And Our Future
When the world presses in and tempers rise at home, unity is what will see us through.
Canada is facing one of the most challenging moments in our recent history. Global markets are shifting, geopolitical tensions are rising, and our closest trading partners have not hesitated to use pressure—economic and diplomatic—to test our resolve. At a time like this, the strength of our country depends on something deeper than policy. It depends on our unity.
No province understands this more clearly than Alberta.
Albertans have shouldered real burdens and real frustrations. Regulatory roadblocks, infrastructure delays, and barriers to getting our resources to market have had lasting consequences—not just for our provincial economy, but for the entire country. Alberta’s private sector ingenuity, our world-leading energy industry, and our entrepreneurial spirit have fueled Canada’s prosperity for decades. And yet, far too often, Albertans have felt unheard, undervalued, or even actively constrained by decisions made far from here.
Those frustrations are legitimate. They deserve recognition and meaningful change.
But this is also a moment to recognize what is at stake.
Being part of Canada gives Alberta strength on the world stage. It gives us access to international trade agreements that open markets for our products. It gives us a stable financial system, respected democratic institutions, and the rule of law that protects investment and encourages growth. It gives us a collective voice when global powers push, pressure, or provoke.
If we fracture, we weaken that voice.
If we divide, we diminish our own influence.
If we allow frustration to outweigh partnership, we risk losing what generations worked to build.
This is not to say that Ottawa has always made the right decisions over generations. It has not. The path forward, however, is not to pull the country apart, but to ensure this federation works better—fairly, respectfully, and sustainably—for Alberta and for every region. That requires resolve, honesty, and the willingness to lead, not walk away.
As a representative from Alberta, I believe unity is not a sentimental idea. It is a strategic one. It is the foundation that allows us to face foreign pressure with confidence, to negotiate from a position of strength, and to ensure that Alberta’s priorities are not only heard but acted upon.
Our future depends on our choice to stand together—assertively, respectfully, and with the clear understanding that Alberta’s success is Canada’s success.
Canada is worth defending, and Alberta must be at the heart of that defense.
