EDMONTON, AB – Matt Jeneroux, the Member of Parliament for Edmonton Riverbend, released the following statement:

“I’m incredibly saddened to hear about the attack on a Muslim family in London, Ontario on Sunday. This racist and hateful attack has no place in Canada.

“This act against a Muslim family for their religion is one of unspeakable hatred. Canada is a multicultural country that welcomes people from all corners of the globe. It is imperative that we all work together on acceptance, compassion and kindness.

“I’ve spoken on racism in the House of Commons in the past and am incredibly disappointed to hear of another racially-motivated attack on Canadian soil. I send my condolences to the family and to Canada’s Muslim community.”
