Edmonton, AB – Today, the Hon. Tim Uppal, Member of Parliament for Edmonton Mill Woods, Matt Jeneroux, Member of Parliament for Edmonton Riverbend, and the Hon. Mike Lake, Member of Parliament for Edmonton—Wetaskiwin, issued the following statement:

“Racism has no place in Canada, it goes against all of our core values. We condemn the recent attack on a Black Muslim woman wearing a hijab in south Edmonton. This is the latest in a pattern of disturbing attacks targeting the Muslim community in Edmonton.

“No one should face threats of violence or intimidation for who they are or what faith they practice. Canada’s Conservatives stand with the Muslim community in Edmonton and across Canada.”
