EDMONTON, AB – Today, Matt Jeneroux, the Member of Parliament for Edmonton Riverbend, released the below statement about the proposal by the federal government to have the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) file tax returns on behalf of Canadians:

“The proposal by the CRA is another example of government overreach in the lives of Canadians. I hear from constituents all the time who would like less government involvement in their lives, not more.

“Canadians have been able to file taxes using their preferred methods and trusted services for years. We must ensure that everyone can choose how to file their taxes, and I will stand up for this choice in Ottawa.”
