Service Canada Notice on the Closure of the Edmonton Passport Office
The Edmonton Passport office is currently closed due to major flooding in this office and anticipates being closed for the foreseeable future.
Service Canada has set up a temporary Passport office at the Londonderry Service Canada Centre.
Unfortunately, the passport printer is no longer functional. This means the temporary Passport Office cannot print passports in Edmonton for the time being.
Alternate passport printing sites will be printing on the office’s behalf and shipping printed passports via private courier to the Londonderry SCC for distribution to clients. However, the turnaround time means the temporary Edmonton Passport office will not be able to have passports on site for clients with urgent or express needs.
Anyone who requires a passport in hand within 72 hours will need to make their way to Calgary for urgent/express pickup services. The temporary Edmonton Passport office will do the work of intaking the application and processing the files. Once the file is approved and ready, they will transfer it to Calgary, who will print and offer pick up service. Clients can have others pick up the passport on their behalf with permission.
Please check the attached document for detailed instructions from Service Canada on passport applications under the current circumstances. If you need any further assistance, please reach out to my office at Matt.Jeneroux.C1A@parl.gc.ca and we will do our best to help.
