International travel rules

On July 19, 2021, the government of Canada announced that as of August 9, fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents of the United States can enter Canada for nonessential purposes. Fully vaccinated tourists and their unvaccinated children under 12 will not need to quarantine.

Currently, the plan is to open the border to fully vaccinated people from all other countries to enter Canada on September 9.

Canadians returning home from abroad who are fully vaccinated do not need to quarantine if they receive approval from a CBSA officer at the point of entry. More information about the requirements is available here.
