After tabling the petition in the House of Commons on January 30, I received the following response from the government:

“In 2016, the Government of Canada launched the $180 billion Investing in Canada Plan, a strategy for addressing long-term infrastructure needs in Canada and supporting middle-class growth and well-paying jobs. The quality of Canada’s transportation infrastructure and the efficiency of the country’s trade corridors is key to the success of Canadian firms in the global marketplace.

“An important part of the Government’s infrastructure plan is the National Trade Corridors Fund (NTCF), which is administered by Transport Canada. As noted, this fund has already funded by the 50 Street underpass in Edmonton and may be an option for funding should the Terwillegar Drive project meet program requirements.”
