I share in our city’s shock and anger from the events of yesterday. While we are lucky to live in one of the safest countries in the world, it is clear, we are not immune to extreme acts of hate and terror.
The images we see on television are the places we know, the places we frequent and that is quite simply, chilling. Together we must remain united and continue to show the world the enduring strength and resilience Edmonton is known for. Let our thoughts remain with the families of the injured individuals.
I would also like to thank the Edmonton Police Service for continuing to bravely serve our community. This is especially true for the officer who was attacked by the coward responsible for these acts. I know our community will join together in the days to come, and not give this coward the satisfaction of dividing us.
